Car Insurance Lincoln (Car Insurance). Can I install a car system in a car with bad speakers? Can I install a car system in a car with bad speakers? Can I install a system into a car that has stock speakers that can only reach 24 then sound like crap. Dude once you fix the cheap fix of replacing those stock speakers, you can add any system you want! What you might want to is install bass blockers on those speakers though or have a crossover installed that limits the signal to those speakers to around 300Hz. Sure, but, it'll sound like crap unless you replace the speakers. yes you can but bear in mind that if you buy a new car system you could also buy new speakers and install them yourself so you can save money:http://www.basicknowledgenow.com/interior-car-tuning/installing-a-car-stereo-system Auto parts : Liquid Container Acura 1995 . Lincoln . Timing Belt Installation in a Nissan AltimaThe Nissan Altima, a mid-sized Japanese car, is available in a variety of styles, from coupe to hybrid. Like most cars, the Altima occasionally requires routine maintenance, such as timing belt replacement. A timing belt, sometimes referred to as a cam belt, controls the timing of the engine's valves. Timing belts suffer from wear and tear because they face much friction during typical use. If you find that installing a timing belt in your Nissan Altima fails to solve your problems, take your vehicle to a mechanic. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Socket wrench Screwdriver Wrench Step by Step : 1 Open the hood of your Nissan Altima and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery from the negative cable that attaches to it. 2 Locate the timing belt cover. On most Nissan Altima models, the timing belt is located near the front of the engine and lies under the alternator. If necessary, remove the parts in front of the timing belt cover, one at a time. Unscrew the bearings on the part with a socket wrench, pull the part from the engine and set it aside. 3 Remove the screws on the timing belt cover with a screwdriver. Set these screws aside and pull the cover off the engine. Set it aside. 4 Loosen the mounting bolts of the Nissan Altima timing belt using a socket wrench. Set a wrench over the bolt in the center of the tensioner and turn the bolt counterclockwise. Push the tensioner away from the timing belt. 5 Note the location of the timing marks. These marks are sections of the gear that are highlighted or otherwise lighter than the rest of the gear. 6 Grasp the timing belt with one hand. Work the timing belt off the engine. Slide the right side of the belt off the gear it touches. Work the left side of the belt off the gear it touches. Slide the timing belt out of the engine and discard it. 7 Slide the timing belt onto the gear on the right side. Pass the bottom of the timing belt over the tensioner, and around the gear on the left. Move the gears manually, if the timing marks have shifted position. Grasp the gear with your hand and gently push it in the appropriate direction. 8 Grasp the tensioner and slide it towards the timing belt. Tighten the bolts of the tensioner with a socket wrench. Tighten the mounting bolts of the timing belt with a socket wrench. 9 Replace the timing belt cover. Insert and tighten all of the removed engine parts and reconnect the negative battery terminal to the negative cable. ResourcesNissan USA: Altima
Lincoln . How to Install a Crank Pulley on a 300ZXA crank pulley lowers the amount of power drained by the non-engine components of your vehicle. These components, such as air conditioning and power steering, cause what is known as "parasitic drag." This drag takes away from the horsepower of your engine and makes your vehicle sluggish. You can install a crank pulley to increase the horsepower available in your 300ZX. But, the pulley may also hinder other aspects such as the power of your AC system. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Car jack Jack stands Socket set Screwdriver Coolant collection bin Puller tool CoolantRemove the Old Crank Pulley Step by Step : 1 Engage the parking brake on your 300ZX. 2 Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery by unscrewing the negative terminal from the negative battery post. 3 Raise the front of your vehicle with a car jack and place jack stands under the front two tires. 4 Remove the engine cover under the engine by removing the 6 nuts that secure it. 5 Remove the radiator lid by pulling it off. Locate the plug on the other side of the radiator and remove it by removing the screw that secures it. Place a collection bin under the area to catch the draining fluids. 6 Remove the lower radiator hose by removing the nut that secures it. Catch any excess fluid in the hose by draining it into your collection bin. 7 Disconnect the hoses from the coolant tubes near the front of the engine by pulling them off. 8 Remove the radiator by removing the two nuts that secure the retaining clamps. 9 Remove the lower radiator hose from the bottom of the engine. Catch any excess fluid into your collection bin. Step by Step : 10 Remove the fan shroud by pulling away at the three clips that secure it. Step by Step : 11 Remove the overflow hose from the radiator but don't allow it to fall down. Step by Step : 12 Remove the clips on the side of the radiator and remove the radiator. Step by Step : 13 Remove the radiator fan and fan clutch by removing the 4 nuts that secure each of them. Step by Step : 14 Loosen the power steering pump by loosening the nut that secures it. Loosen the belt tensioner by loosening the nut that secures it. Step by Step : 15 Shift your car to neutral. Remove the crank bolt that is now accessible. Shift your car back into gear. Step by Step : 16 Loosen the tensioner-locking bolt. Remove the belt tensioner on the alternator by removing the nut that secures it. *Look under your vehicle in the morning to see whether any liquid is on the ground under it. If you see liquid, stick your finger in it and smell it. If it's coolant (green, red, blue, orange, or rust colored), look around the parts of the car that are over the puddle and feel around for wetness. If you're not sure what the stuff that's leaking out of your vehicle is, see Chapter 20 for an easy way to locate, troubleshoot, and deal with leaks of all types, including oil, transmission fluid, and brake fluid. '>art'"" ^eeP'n9 ^our ^ar m Good Condition, System by System Check the radiator Look around your radiator for whitish deposits or rust-colored stains. These indicate old leaks that have dried. They may not be all that old; water tends to evaporate quickly on a hot radiator. If you find any, the "Radiator leaks" section later in this chapter tells you what to do. Also check the front end of the radiator to see whether the surface is befouled with dirt, leaves, and bugs. If so, remove them with a brush and a garden hose. ^ —-^ If your radiator catches a lot of debris, you can attach a piece of nylon window screen over the front surface with twist-ties to trap the stuff and keep it from getting stuck between the radiator fins. 693

If you aren't sure, ask a mechanic to pressure-test your cap to see whether it's functioning properly. If you need a new one, give the salesperson the make, model, and year of your vehicle and check the pressure limits (psi) on the new cap against your owner's manual to make sure that you're buying the proper cap for the amount of pressure in your cooling system. Never let a service station you don't normally frequent hook you into buying a new radiator cap unless you make them pressure-test your old cap. You may want to have them test the new cap, as well. I've been sold a faulty new cap to replace a faulty old one! Check the hoses Regularly check all the hoses under the hood of your vehicle, whether or not you've been having trouble. For instant panic, there's nothing like having a hose burst while you're driving. If it's a radiator hose, the resulting shower of steam is frightening at best and dangerous at worst. If a vacuum hose goes, the sudden loss of vacuum can stop your car in the midst of traffic. Checking your hoses and replacing the funky ones before they leak can save your nerves and your pocketbook in the long run. If you find a hose that's soft and squishy, bulgy, hard or brittle, cracked, leaking, or marked with a whitish deposit where stuff has leaked and dried, replace it immediately, before it breaks. I show you how to do that in the section "Leaky hoses" later in this chapter. . Repairing Leaks in the Coating System When you find a leak, you must decide whether you can handle it yourself or whether you must see a professional. The following sections give you a few pointers to help you decide. Radiator teaks Lincoln . My dad sold his '81 Firebird in 1984. We both do not know the VIN number or the current status of it.
